Southern tagalog region is one of the parts in the Philippines which has a lot of gorgeous mountains to hike on, one of these is Mt. Tibig, situated in Nasugbu, Batangas, 3-4 hours travel from Manila. Tibigs summit has a 360 degrees view of Batangas and the provinces nearby. The air is cool and fresh, highly recommended to first time hiker. The ranges encircling the area create shadows for a picture perfect background (photo above.)
The Trail | The elevation of Mt. Tibig is not so problematic in terms of trail difficulty. It has easy to moderate rating given by majority of the hikers. From the guides residence, the first part is walking on the boulder and then uphill. In ascending, some parts of the terrain is covered with fruit bearing trees and shrubs. Then before reaching the summit, there’s also an open and spacious area covered with cogon grass, which serves as cattle’s green pasture.
How To Get Here | We rode in a Jam Liner Bus bound for Batangas, alighted in Nasugbu Grand Terminal. Chartered a jeepney going to the jump off or guides residence. For guide and drivers contact numbers, please message me: firstname.lastname@example.org. More photos and story here: TravellingCup
